Created to bolster innovation in Canada's business sector, the Build in Canada Innovation Program (BCIP) helps companies bridge the pre-commercialization gap by procuring and testing late stage innovative goods and services within the federal government before taking them to market.
MetaOptima's vision is to bring digital healthcare and mobile technologies together, providing patients with easier access to medical information, more control over their health needs, and most importantly, peace of mind. We are focused on empowering high-risk patients with mobile health technologies, and providing tools for regular skin screening and the early detection of skin cancer.
The DermEngine™ system was developed by MetaOptima Technology Inc. to address the under-digitization of dermatology. DermEngine is a desktop platform that interfaces with the innovative MoleScope™ mobile application and smartphone-attachable dermoscope for skin imaging. MoleScope provides a high-resolution, detailed view of the skin through magnification and specialized lighting. It is designed to help you track and monitor your moles over time to ensure they are receiving the attention they need.
MetaOptima Technology Inc. and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police are working together to test the innovative DermEngine system, which includes the MoleScope device and mobile application and the DermEngine web platform.
Up to 100 RCMP officers will be recruited to participate in the BCIP project with MetaOptima Technology. Each officer will be given a free MoleScope (costs covered by BCIP). Participants will be asked to take images of their lesions. Officers will have free access to eTriage services for the duration of the project.
